IPhone 3.0 News: Google uses your location in Safari

Since the release of Apple’s OS 3.0 for iPhone a lot of new features have started to emerge, however one feature seems to have been overlooked, the feature is basically integration between Safari’s web browser and Google’s search engine which allows you to search your current location for certain places of interest.

The feature can be used in many different scenarios, one example could be perhaps you were looking for a Chinese restaurant, if you use your iPhone with OS 3.0 and run a Google search you will be prompted “Safari would like to use your current location” if you confirm this and search for Chinese restaurant you will get results based on your current location.

Obviously the potential for this feature is almost limitless, and with easily accessible Google Maps results it may make life a lot easier.
