Intel Sales Are Up: Is this a PC market comeback?
By: Jamie Pert | July 16, 2009 | Leave a CommentAccording to Intel quarterly sales are up again for the second consecutive quarter, this is a strong indication that the PC market is beginning to grow stronger, however Dell and a few others disagree, Intel have seen a 12 percent boost in sales when compared to the first quarter this year.
According to Intel this is the largest quarterly to quarterly growth that they have seen since 1988, this has led to Intel expecting an even stronger second half of the year, especially with the release of Windows 7.
Obviously this seems to suggest that the market is beginning to recover from the recession, however there is no guarantees that this growth will continue, the investment bank J.P. Morgan said “Although the Intel quarter was clearly spectacular on all fronts, we continue to believe the upside was driven by inventory replenishment as we have not seen any evidence of increasing PC demand,” this does seem to suggest that maybe only some aspects of the PC marker are currently growing.
