Verizon Wireless App Store: July 28 event
By: Alan Ng | July 15, 2009 | Leave a CommentVerizon Wireless have announced that they will unveiling their mobile app store on July 28th at a press event. The news follows LG’s recent unveiling of their app store, so it looks as if Verizon want a piece of the cake.
As IntoMobile reports, Verizon customers might be slightly disappointed to hear that they will be blocking access to any other mobile app stores on their phones and blocking access to Windows Marketplace completely. Slightly greedy you may think, but then again its a logical business step for the company.
The Verizon app store will be open to apps for use on Windows Mobile, Android, BlackBerry and Palm, but all will require developers to submit their apps to Verizon for approval first.
