Microsoft delivers six security updates
By: Peter Chubb | July 15, 2009 | Leave a CommentYesterday we saw Microsoft release six new security updates, these updates are to patch nine vulnerabilities, two of the bugs have already been used by hackers. The strange thing is, Microsoft have still left one bug open for hackers to exploit.
According to Computer World, from the six security updates, three were to patch parts of Windows, while the other three fixed holes in Acceleration Server (ISA), Internet Security, Microsoft’s virtualization software and Publisher. Microsoft had marked six of the nine bugs as critical three were tagged important.
Back in May, Microsoft finally acknowledged that hackers were able to exploit a bug in DirectShow; this is one of the components in Windows’ DirectX graphics platform. We also reported last week that Microsoft owned up to another bug, this was to do with its ActiveX control, which is used for video streaming on Internet Explorer.
