GigaByte have revealed some of their latest motherboards, these motherboards support the Intel P55 chipset and support LGA1156 processors. There are two boards that we will be looking in to, they are the Gibabyte GA-P55-UD4P and the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD6.
The GA-P55-UD4P has two standard PCI slots, three PCI express slots and two PCI express graphics slots. The two PCI express graphics slots support both SLI and CrossFire. Some of the SATA ports are labelled SATA 6Gbs, however rumors state that this standard will not be released. The board also has a Realtek chip which supports HD Audio and Gigabit LAN, and the board support supports Firewire.
The GA-P55-UD6 is a higher end model it is much the same in terms of chipset etc however the board is higher-end. The most noticeable differences include, a more advanced cooling system, two more SATA ports (10 in total), two more DIMM slots (6 in total) and an extra PCI Express graphics slot. The biggest difference however is its 24 phase power design, there are infact 27 phases, three of them are dedicated to the DIMM slots.
