
Apple App Store: 65,000 Apps and 1.5 Billion Downloads
By: Alan Ng | July 15, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe wrote you to a few days ago, telling you all about Apple’s 1 year celebration of the App store. Well today, Apple have now officially spoken about the topic and revealed a updated progression of figures so far.
According to MacRumors, Apple iPhone and iPod touch users have downloaded over 1.5 billion applications in the App Store combined, all this within a year. Apple also stated that there are now over 65,000 thousand apps to choose from in the store, giving customers an endless choice of their favourite software.
Heres a statement from Steve Jobs himself: “The App Store is like nothing the industry has ever seen before in both scale and quality, with 1.5 billion apps downloaded, it is going to be very hard for others to catch up.”
