Analysts: AT&T’s iPhone subsidy and expected toll on finances
By: Alan Ng | July 15, 2009 | Leave a CommentIt has been revealed recently that the high subsidy costs that AT&T pay for on the iPhone could result in financial loss, when the company’s quarterly figures are due to be revealed next week.
According to ComputerWorld, AT&T pay a subsidy around $300 for each device and while this could mount up over time, the company still could come out on top due to the amount of new customers they attract each month.
While a $300 subsidy for each device may seem a lot, the company are still getting at least $70 from each customer each month, over a 2 year deal. I guess we’ll find out how well AT&T are doing, when the figures are released on the 23rd July.
