Leading entertainment provider Blockbuster and Samsung have announced that they are to join forces to allow consumers the ability to access the vast library of Blockbuster’s premium digital entertainment with Blockbuster OnDemand. This will be done through a number of new Samsung HDTVs, Blu-ray players and home theater systems. Samsung are certainly thinking more about the user, this is evident from the Twitter integration on a range of their new TVs
This new service will be made available in the fall and will allow millions of homes to gain access to Blockbuster’s digital library of movies in the U.S. The new Blockbuster OnDemand service will offer comprehensive browsing and search capabilities, along with a host of other features, including ratings, trailers and full movie details directly on your TV.
Once you have rented or purchased a movie, all you need to do is just press play to watch the movie. Blockbuster uses adaptive streaming technology; this means that you are able to enjoy quality viewing with no interruption in playback.
