For those of you looking to upgrade your Operating System from Windows XP to Windows 7 when it is released a “how to” guide has been created. To see the full four page how to guide head over to ComputerWorld.
Lots of commonly asked questions are answered in the guide here is some of the most important information they mentioned. First of all you do not require Windows Vista to act as a middleman between Windows XP and Windows 7; however in place upgrades are only available to Windows Vista users.
Also it reiterates the minimum requirements and recommends that if your not sure whether your PC can run Windows 7 you should run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which can be found here.
Also no matter what version of Windows XP you have (Home or Professional) you have the rights to upgrade to either version of Windows 7 rather then having to buy the full Retail or OEM version.
Lots of other points are covered in the guide and it is well worth a look at if it something your thinking of doing.
