Royal Philips Electronics NV: Second-quarter profit

Royal Philips Electronics NV have surprised many by reporting a second quarter profit, many analysts had predicted a loss averaging out at about 122.5 million euros but in the end reported a net-income of 44 million euros.

Although Philips made a lot less then last years second quarter I’m sure they will be happy to see that they didn’t take a loss, which is good given the current economic climate, Philips are also predicting a better second half of the year, which should start to get them back on track.
