Noisy Apple MacBook Pro’s with 7200RPM HDDs

Since the release of the latest MacBook Pro’s there has now been two issues with their hard disk drives, initially the transfer speeds were limited to 1.5Gbps (which has now been fixed), but now customers are complaining that their hard disk drives are having performance issues along with clicking and bleeping noises.

Early indications seem to suggest that the noise is to do with the anti-shock precautions used in Seagate Momentus 7200.4 G-Force drives, this is not yet confirmed.

The number of MacBook Pro’s having these issues is not yet known however if you are experiencing similar issues check out the Apple Support Forums here.
