Hackers are said to have found vulnerability within Internet Explorer’s ActiveX, from what we understand the vulnerability is said to expose every user of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Hackers have been using this method for over a month.
The security threat is said to be more advanced then the Conficker infection earlier this year as it can work through a firewall, whereas Conficker could only really become active once it was on the inside of a firewall.
The way in which the security threat works is that on certain malicious websites a multiexploit hacker tool automatically downloads and launches.
Microsoft are planning to patch the issue on July 14th, so make sure your automatic updates are turned on.
