Gran Turismo 5 Cars: Your Car Wish List

Gran Turismo 5 is a game that has been promised since the launch of the Sony PS3; we have to wonder if the game can ever live up to its expectations. While at E3 2009, we were treated to a new trailer of Gran Turismo 5. One thing was clear though, what we saw in Prologue was nothing like what we will see in the final game.

There are two burning questions that are on gamers minds and that is, will the cars have damage and what cars will there be. In a recent article, we spoke about the footage of the new Gran Turismo 5 trailer and we did notice that there would be collision damage.

This is a feature that we have all been hoping for; let us hope that the game lives up to all the hype. Although we have to wonder if the damage is only supported for the rally car mode. There are already hopes of some truly amazing cars, such as the GTbyCITROËN, which we wrote about in a recent article. This does show that we are in for a treat when we finally learn which cars will feature in the final game.

Let us know what your car wish list is.

Hey Peter…what’re you retarded? The video from E3, clearly shows the damage in the WRC event. Need you even ask questions that you already know the answer too?

Beyond that, expect lots of cars, and expect Polyphony Digitals typical obsession with detail and accuracy. But, I’d wait for the hype machine to start with Polyphony Digital. And not attempt to do so with the little information we’ve all been given regarding the game.

I think the “street”courses like Monaco,Seattle and Tokyo should make a return in gt5.Plus,Id like to see some of the old school rally cars:(Lancia Stratos,Ford rs 200).

As for i am a massive gran turismo fan!! i think by having crash collision ability it would be the most realistic driving game ever made in history, but to add crash colision on evry car would be a task, for crash ability i think it should be a on and off mode because you dont want to keep restarting the race just because your car is missing a wheel or the car is half gone. but the car could stil be fixed by say driving into the pits and have the crew fix the car???.

GT5 should have more of the australian cars like ford falcons, holden toranas, commodores etc. ferrari, lamborghini, porsche, bugatti, audi,ac cobras, aston martin,bentley,bmw,brabus/mercedes-benz,cadillac,chevrolet,chrysler,dodge,ford,jaguar,Koenigsegg,lexus, pagani, pontiac etc. here is a link that would give more and better cars that should be added in the official gran turismo 5,,, http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/gaming/33712-gran-turismo-5-a.html

i have completed gt3,gt4,gt5p and they are still my favourite games today. GT5 will blast everyone away even by the detail and graphics of the cars. gt5 could also have changing weather conditions, a test track, as mentioned before the ‘top gear runway - test track’ more and adored cars ferrari enzo, mercedes benz slr mclaren, lamborghini murcielago, porsche carrera gt etc, and crash collision ability

    cheers..
    Jes

The hint of damage is all that we have to go on at present. Is it in the game (across all cars)? Does it affect the handling of the vehicles? Do bits fall off or is the damage simply aesthetic.

I think PD are keeping their cards close to their chest as they’re a bit concerned. Fans are yearning for something different… not just a graphical upgrade.

    • Mornelithe says:

Actually, I think they’re keeping cards close at hand, because they don’t want to spoil the hype machine. It’s already pretty much a given, by everyone who isn’t a Forza fanboy, that GT5 is going to break ground in many many areas. WRC/NASCAR licenses, Night Racing, Drag Racing (Maybe), Vehicle Deformation. That’s what’s a certainty right now.

Now, the depth and breadth of the vehicle deformation? Not known, how in-depth the WRC/NASCAR events go, unknown. Weather effects, unknown, vehicle list, unknown, modding capabilities, unknown. Tons of things still up in the air. But, given the franchise history of 52 million units sold, I highly doubt PD is concerned about whether or not it’ll sell.

      • bunimomike says:

Sony (and other Japanese companies) show incredible arrogance. Sadly, it’s because it’s in their culture. To not show weakness. I’m hoping (once more) that PD can bring something incredible to the table. God knows, Forza 3 shaping up well. I want Gran Turismo to be incredible and retain its fanbase. However, I want it to be something more than that and tempt me back to it one more time.

My biggest concern? PD has concentrated so hard on the graphical prowess that the game’s barely changed under the bonnet.

        • Mornelithe says:

Actually, I think that’s factually inaccurate. Gran Turismo Prologue has been 1080p @ 60fps, since it was released, what, last year? There’s no going beyond 1080p for most TV sets, and the human eye doesn’t really need anything more than 60fps. So…what exactly would they be focusing on, for the past year+, graphically?

That’s the thing, people assume way too much right now about what GT5 is and is not. Nobody had a clue about WRC or NASCAR licenses until it was stated at E3 this year. That’s a good thing, and a deviation from the leak prone Sony. It keeps people wondering. That, in and of itself, creates hype. Whereas, Turn 10’s already stated they won’t be having Weather effects, Night Time Driving, or Rallying in Forza 3. That’ll definitely take some steam out of their hype machine…right?

This way, whenever PD get’s around to delivering their launch window/holy shit GT5’s done speech. Everything will be news. You follow?

I know what you mean, matey… just that it’d be nice to have something concrete to go on. Especially with such a massive franchise. Of course, by keeping us guessing, it potentially prevents the dual console owners from dropping their money on Forza.

    Cunning swines *shakes fist*! :-)

  7. Aj childs says:

My wishlist of cars would be the AUDI R10 TDI, AUDI R15 TDI (im a very big AUDI fan), Peugout 908 TDI, and exstensive Nissan NISMO 350z’s

  8. JZ says:

How about the Red Bull Renault RBR5 2009 Sebastian Vettle F1 car! :D

  9. Murcie says:

Well Lamborghini and Bugatti have been confirmed for GT PSP and obviously GT5 so the Veyron would be a shoe-in. The only modelled and released Lambo at this present time is the Countach LP400 but I’m sure there’ll be the Murcie and Gallardo in there. They’re the Raging Bull’s flagship models. The one I’d like to see is the 2009 Spyker C8 Aileron. They had the C8 Laviolette in GT4 so I’m sure they’d be able to easily get the license for it. The one I’d LOVE to see is the Ferrari 458 Italia, but i get the feeling that because it’s only a computer-rendered picture at the moment, they would probably add it later in DLC.

  10. Mary says:

My husband and I would think its sweet to see Kia’s in there. A Kia Spectra SX would be sweet. Also the brand New Kia Forte. Thats my wish list.
