
Google Operating System 2009: Industry Shake-up
By: Alan Ng | July 13, 2009 | Leave a CommentGoogle co-founder Larry Page and Google Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt have spoken recently about the upcoming Google Chrome OS, answering all sorts of questions from reporters and the inevitable comparisons with Microsoft Windows.
As reported from Stuff, Schmidt revealed that talks about a Google OS took some time to get off and running, as co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin thought it was a ‘terrible’ idea to create an OS which would go head-to-head with Microsoft Windows.
Fast forward to today though and the company are now ready to take on Microsoft head-to-head, with incentives such as lower priced computers which will run the Chrome OS.
