
Google Chrome and Android OS: The difference
By: Jamie Pert | July 13, 2009 | Leave a CommentGoogle’s vice president that Andy Rubin recently announced Chrome OS will not squeeze out Android. Since the announcement of the Chrome OS a lot of people have thought that this perhaps will ultimately replace Android.
Andy has said “There’s different problems to be solved in different categories of consumer products,” and also stated “But that doesn’t mean that … one wins and one doesn’t win. You need different technologies for different solutions”. From this statement it suggests that Google see an equal importance in both Chrome’s and Androids unique markets, and one solution will not suit both markets.
With this news coming from the vice president we now expect Android to adapt and evolve into perhaps one of the leading smartphone Operating Systems, however it must be noted that Andy could just be saying this just to keep manufacturers interested in using its Android software for the time being.
