Netflix movie streaming coming to Sony BRAVIA HDTV’s

When selecting your next HDTV you have to consider a number of things, and one of those is “Does it offer Netflix movie streaming.” Sony will be able to say yes to that soon, as they have announced that they are to work with Demand Media and ON Networks to offer movie streaming to its new range of BRAVIA HDTVs that can connect to the Internet.

Netflix members will be able to use this new service on a Sony BRAVIA Internet Video-capable HDTV from this fall. Older models can also use this new feature via a Sony BRAVIA Internet Video Link module. HotHardware informs us that movies and TV shows can be viewed through a queue-based user interface, offering a choice of over 12,000.

There is one thing that is puzzling, why have Sony not offered the Netflix service to its PS3 console? We know that they both can work together, let us hope that Sony pull their fingers out and offer PS3 users a service that they want.

Netflix are certainly offering its servcie to a range of clients now, the latest was that Netflix will be offered to the Windows Media Center.
