MechWarrior 4: Free Download Coming

There is great news for gamers, as MechWarrior 4 and all of its expansions will be available soon as a free download. According to an article from Voodoo Extreme, this free release of the game is being offered to the world thanks to MekTek.net.
This free edition of MechWarrior4 has been introduced, as it is BattleTech’s 25th anniversary and MekTek’s 10th anniversary. This is such a great opportunity for fans of BattleTech to re-discover what they have been missing with MechWarrior and what better way than to offer MechWarrior4 for free.
The MechWarrior community has been saying just how happy they are with the MekTek team, as they are now taking a leadership role in the development of the online MechWarrior communities. Let us know if you will be downloading MechWarrior 4.

Certainly going to download it. No doubt a PR move to heighten popularity of the Mechwarrior brand right after the announcement of a new Mechwarrior video game. Regardless, they’re playing all their cards right. If anything, it will at least draw a couple fresh faces to the franchise, which means more potential Mechwarrior customers. Not that I’m complaining in the slightest.
For those that don’t know, a similar move was put forth awhile ago, where MechCommander 2 was released for free. Definitely both worth checking out.
I am definatly wanting to redownload and start playing again. I miss the MechWarrior Games so this is my chance to start to play again. Thanks to MekTek we will be able to play a very good game with new players as well as old players. YAY!!!!
