Google Moon: New 3D View
By: Jamie Pert | July 10, 2009 | 1 CommentThere are rumors emerging stating ther will soon be “a very special announcement about the newest addition to Google Earth”. With the 40 year anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing it seems likely that they will be adding a 3D view of the Moon.
Google Moon currently offers overhead shots of the Moon, however no 3D map is currently available. It is thought that Google will be able to use Nasa’s the recently launched Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter to generate the 3D images.
If all this turns out to be true it shows that Google and NASA must have a very good relationship.
