Axxis Fingerprint Door Lock

Axxis Fingerprint Door Lock

By: Jamie Pert | July 10, 2009 | 1 Comment

With biometric security becoming more and more affordable it is no surprise that we are starting to see household devices utilizing this technology.

Axxis have created a new door lock which requires both PIN and fingerprint identification, the device allows customizable access times for different users which can be programmed easily via a customized flash drive.

The idea of this device is in my opinion a good one, however the price tag is just too high, $699 per lock and $299 for the USB flash accessory. Engadget hit the nail on the head with this statement “with a price like that, a burglar might be inclined to steal the locks instead of your treasured possessions”.

This Company is horrible.  DO NOT PURCHASE these products.  We purchased the BioAxxis BD1 in March 2011.  It never worked properly.  When called for help, the service personnel refused to help.  I explained the product did lock the door, but then didn’t require verification to unlock the lock.  So you had to use your fingerprint to lock it, but anyone could unlock it.  They were unhelpful and wouldn’t replace the product.  The CSR was rude, and bossy.  This company’s technology, although interesting, isn’t perfected.  I wouldn’t place my home security or my business’ security in their care or trust.  It is also hard to find a review.  Their phone number is difficult to find, and their email address bounces.  They aren’t about protecting you – just about taking your money .  On a scale of 1 to 10, then would receive a NEGATIVE score.  Purchase at your own peril.  You’ve been warned.   J Hallman, Tacoma, WA.
