Apple iPhone Demand Increasing: RIM still market leader
By: Alan Ng | July 10, 2009
Latest survey results from analysts ChangeWave have indicated that although RIM remains the market leader for smartphones, Apple’s iPhone is catching up quick due to increased demand for the device.
As reported from IntoMobile, the Apple iPhone is now beating RIM when it comes to short-term demand with consumers and as a result of this, Apple has now increased their smartphone market share.
To put this into perspective for you, a total of 4,064 consumers were surveyed and 14.4% revealed that they were planning on buying a smartphone within the next 90 days. Out of those buyers, 44% of them revealed that they were going to be picking up an iPhone, compared to 23% of them who were opting for a BlackBerry.
