PS3 vs. Xbox 360: Speed of certain tasks

After an independant in-game study into speed tests on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, it has been revealed that the PS3 takes around 7 times longer than the Xbox 360 when loading up in-game achievements.

That’s according to this GameZine report, who got the results from a forum poster over at NeoGaf. Several other tasks were performed such as the amount of time taken to load up the MarketPlace and PSN and loading up friends profiles.

Gamezine pointed out that the big difference in the PS3 reaction time of loading up trophies could be due to the images that need to be loaded, compared to just figures on Xbox Live.

You couldn’t make this sh!t up.

Does the whole internet hate the PS3 that much that they will post ANYTHING negative about the console, no matter how irrelevant & boring.

    Sad sad sad!

So from this article the most important information was the trophy load times? What a waste of time, theirs and mine.
So in other words do we assume that all other load times are the same for everything else then?

This is the most pointless FUD ever. The people that reported it need to get a life (or clearly work for Microsoft viral marketing department).

The people reporting it are even worse.

How about something worthy, like how the PS3 boots Blu-Rays 10x quicker than even the most expensive standalone. I don’t see this being reported, even thou it’s true. But clearly that won’t meet the agenda.

The agenda this time seems to be for the press to flex their combined weight and destroy the best, most technically advanced and best value console, whilst seeing if they can cover over the cracks in the crappiest..

You know what? I like it here. Not many posts which means very little fanboy/immature arguments. Sure, it’d be nice to see the place busier but at least we get to voice our opinions without questioning the validity of our mothers sexual prowess! :)

Once again – atrocious article and it’s good to see everyone feels the same. Yawntastic baiting. Didn’t work. :)

pointless article… But to the poster who said they owe you two minutes of your life?!?? Really? You must be a slow reader!

That was me! lol. :) I clicked the link to the full article so both this page (and the click-through article) took a couple of minutes to read in total.

Every 360 owner I know has sent their console in for repairs and the menu screen takes forever to load. The PS3 hardware is way ahead of the M$ abortion known as the XBOX 360, Sony just needs to continue updating PSN.
