Halo and Modern Warfare Series: Not innovative enough

Mirror are reporting that according to Randy Pitchford who is the president of Gearbox, games such as Halo and Modern Warfare are not innovative enough. He also suggests that game manufacturers such as Bungie who create Halo and Infinity Ward who create the Modern Warfare Series should develop games beyond their current franchises.

Gearbox are responsible for games such as Brothers In Arms and the upcoming Borderlands.

While I agree with some points made I feel that if Gearbox want to see innovative games they should concentrate on this their selves, especially after having played Brothers In Arms, which in my opinion seemed outdated even when it was released.

I feel Halo 3 wasn’t different enough from Halo 2 therefore I agree they could become more innovative, however I feel Call Of Duty do what they do so well that no real innovative features need to be added.
