Google in a position to take on Microsoft in OS business
By: Peter Chubb | July 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe reported yesterday that Google are indeed working on an operating system for Netbooks and PCs called Google Chrome OS, a number of business analysts have been saying that Google is the best company to take on Microsoft and its Windows software.
Computer World explains that Google announced to the world in its blog that they were hard at work developing Google Chrome OS and should be ready by the second half of 2010. We already know that Google Chrome OS will be a lightweight and open source; this certainly has its benefits.
Computer World adds that this is a bold move by Google; the OS market is though, one that Microsoft has had a firm grip over for many years. A number of other companies have tried to take the market share from Microsoft, but they have all failed. Google are thought to be Goliath, and are thought to be the only one to be able to take the fight to Microsoft.
