Engadget have managed to get hold of what they think are the first screen screenshots of Google Chrome OS, but they do say that these could be fake, which is easy to do. There has been a WordPress blog set up which claims that they offer the world’s first pictures of this new operating system.
All over the Internet, Google Chrome OS is being hailed as the Apple OS X and Microsoft Windows killer. Google have already been showing a private beta build to an Acer parts supplier yesterday, which we can give you details of below.
The install of the Google Chrome OS took just 10 minutes and 1 restart on an Acer Extensa 4620Z laptop. Rebooting the system takes around 25 seconds, making this beta OS “amazingly fast”. The start menu is a blue orb on the auto-hiding “Chrome Bar”, this runs along the bottom of the UI.
Google have now announced which hardware manafacturers they will be working with.
