Busy Google: Chrome OS, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Android and Talk
By: Jamie Pert | July 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentFollowing earlier news on Google’s new Chrome OS it now also seems that Google are planning to expand their applications to eventually take on Microsoft Office. Their initial concentration is to produce a stable OS, this OS has a primary target of being speedy, simple and secure.
Google recently announced some of their software as no longer beta and are looking to expand their Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk applications as an attempt to take on Microsoft’s Office Suite. Google Calendar has become very useful for company’s already as it allows multi users to synchronise calendars easily.
It seems that Google are aiming for a complete system for home users and businesses, and if they get it right companies could end up with complete I.T solutions which involves no Microsoft software, whether it ever reaches this stage is hard to see, it will be interesting to see how things have changed this time in two years.
