By: Peter Chubb | July 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentYesterday, we saw the release of Apple Safari 4.0.2, which you can download from Apple’s Safari download page, or through your Mac’s Software Update. The update fixes two security vulnerabilities; this could cause problems from maliciously crafted websites.
Mac Rumors also reports that this update helps to improve the stability of the Nitro JavaScript engine. The first of the two security vulnerabilities was to do with websites deploying cross-site scripting attacks.
This issue is to do with how WebKit handles parent and top objects, this could result in cross-site scripting attack, which happens when visiting a maliciously crafted website. The second of the security vulnerabilities help to address arbitrary code execution, this also happens when visiting maliciously crafted websites.
