By: Alan Ng | July 8, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe recently told you about an announcement for new Sony 1080p-enabled handycams, but it looks as if Sony are not stopping there. The company have just announced their DVDirect VDR-MC6 recorder, which aims to replace the VDR-MC5 DVD recorder.
As reported from SlashGear, the VDR-MC6 will allow you to easily transfer SD and HD videos and photos from your camera to DVDs directly, eliminating the need of a desktop computer.
New features include a 2.7-inch LCD screen, smaller design than the previous model and an auto-chapter mode. The device has the ability to write to 8.5GB DVD+R discs and also has support for Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.
If you’re interested in this, you’ll be able to pick it up for $229 in September.
