Sprint’s 99-cent netbook

You may have read our post last week which suggested that AT&T would be offering free subsidized netbooks to business customers, well now its seems that Sprint are going to offer a similar deal.

From what we can see Sprint will be offering the HP Mini 110c netbook for 99 cents when you sign a two year data contract. Although initially the deal seems good apparently you will have to sign up for a $60 a month contract which over the two years will set you back a lot of money.

While it is good that they offer the netbook at such a low cost practically it would be just as beneficial to buy your own netbook and get a 3G USB stick, this doesn’t then limit you to just being able to use your service on the supplied netbook, and also has the potential to allow more then one computer to connect via the single internet connection.

Check out Engadget for further details.

Would you buy the Sprint 99-cent netbook?
