New Xbox 360 (aka 720) release 2010/2011

An industry analyst has predicted that the new Xbox 360 console (720) will be released in 2010/2011 and will coincide with the highly anticipated release of Project Natal.

As reported from 360Magazine, analyst Michael Pachter was the latest critic to give his prediction on Microsoft’s successor to the Xbox 360.

When quizzed in an interview with 360Magazine, he had this to say:

“I think that this will come with the next version of the Xbox 360, which I expect to launch with Project Natal, likely at year-end 2010 or early 2011. I expect the same CPU/GPU combination, with many other features built-in to the hardware.”

What are your predictions for the Xbox 720?

Pachter is clearly on the Sony payroll and I’d rather not take any notice of what this fraud has to say. He’s shown his true colours recently when he criticised the price point of the PSP GO, then retracted his comments after Sony reacted to them, which were correct in the first instance.

He then did it again when he predicted the PS3 will have sold more units than the 360 by 2015, which is clear propaganda, especially if he later believes that M$ are due to release a new console - which I assume he’s saying to put people off of buying a 360.

You’ve been caught out Patchy, give it up.

Why replace something that isn’t broke, it just needs to have the Natal thing plugged into the USB port and a firmware upgrade.

I don’t know about you, but my 360 certainly is broken. I am now on my fourth one (RRoD) and it continues to be an issue.

I can honestly said I don’t know a single person how has not had their 360 fail at least one time.

MS would do well with leaving this albatross behind and launching something stable with their next-generation Xbox (720).

It will NOT be called the Xbox 720! Why do so many people think this? All 720 is 360 doubled. It was called the Xbox 360 for a REASON. It was supposed to be 360 degrees as in full circle with media and games. There is simply no sense in calling it the Xbox 360. It bothers me because you listed the next Xbox as the ‘Xbox 720′ three times.

    • Anon y Mous says:

Actually, it was called 360 because Microsoft wanted to have a “3″ in the name so it didn’t sound inferior to the PlayStation 3. The marketing BS behind the name of 360 degrees of hand holding love or whatever is just that; marketing.
