IPhone OS 3.0: Battery life, v3.1 and your story
By: Peter Chubb | July 7, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere have been a huge number of reports that the new iPhone OS 3.0 is draining the batteries in the iPhone at a faster rate than before. It seems that users are unable to go the whole day without the need to charge their iPhone up.
The problem has to lay with the new iPhone OS 3.0, but with recent news that Apple is already hard at work on update v3.1, there should be a fix very soon. I have noticed that my new iPhone 3G S is only a little better with its battery life, so this new OS update is very welcome.
We know that it is not a problem with the battery itself; instead, it is to do with iPhone OS 3.0. One reason could be that the OS is keeping some features turned on when they do not need to be. Users have been advised to turn certain function off and make certain that you have deleted email messages; this has angered them as you should not have to do this just to save some precious battery life.
The new iPhone OS 3.1 is to also update other features, such as Bluetooth and Voice Control. We recently asked our reader what their wishlist were for iPhone 3.1 update.
