If you wish to know which is the best non-IM use of iPhone 3.0’s push notifications so far, then Gizmodo believes that Prowl is the best yet. This app only costs $3, and for that, you will get to push Growl notifications from your Mac to your iPhone.
For those of you who do now know, Growl is a global notifier, which plugs into a number of things; these include BitTorrent apps, Mail and iTunes. Gizmodo explains that the possibilities are endless.
Prowl allows you to customize which notifications are pushed to your iPhone, and the app will store 30 days of them. There is also a report that Growl will soon offer support for Windows, ideal for those of you who do not own a Mac.
