Crunchpad Release Update: Touch Screen Web Tablet

A blogger named Michael Arrington has decided to start a company to create a cheap and simple tablet PC, this tablet PC is primarily going to be used for web browsing. Michael had been wanting a cheap device for surfing the Web, watching online video, and using e-mail but in the end decided to invest his money into the new project.
The new device is going to be called the CrunchPad and is going to be a touch screen device with a 12 inch display, and is said to have a virtual keyboard similar to the iPhone.
Full hardware details are yet to be revealed, however it is expected to use an Intel Atom processor, it is also said to come with 4GB of internal memory and it will have a USB slot. The system is going to run a customized version of Linux and is said to boot straight into an Internet browser.
The tablet should be available within a few months and is said to retail at under $300. Check out the full story on InformationWeek.
