
China Unicom and Apple iPhone deal
By: Alan Ng | July 7, 2009 | Leave a CommentIt looks as if Apple are finally set to release the iPhone over in China, after recent reports suggest that a deal is very close between China Unicom and Apple, better late than never eh?
As reported from AppleInsider, China Unicom are leading the race to secure the iPhone in China, but they are still facing heavy competition from China Mobile.
They have emerged favourites due to their willingness to subsidize the iPhone to Apple’s tastes, as well as giving Apple the usual control over the device and software.
AppleInsider states that China Mobile are reported to be seeking control of the local App store, a request that Apple are surely going to disagree on.
