We wrote an article yesterday asking for your wishlist for the new iPhone OS 3.1, and one response that we had needed a mention. One of our readers gave us their tips as to what they would like to see from not only the iPhone OS 3.1 software update, but also the new Apple iPhone 4.0 (aka 2010 iPhone).
Let us look and see what they had wished for, and see if there is anything on there that we hope to see soon. The first is the most obvious, and that is Flash player support. We are still waiting for Apple to offer us this basic feature.
That was the most wanted feature on the wishlist, but there are still a host of other wanted features, such as a quick back option, it does get annoying that you have to go to your home screen while switching between apps.
It would also be nice to have the option to attach images and files from an email app itself, multiple signature and manual rotate gesture options has also been asked for. The reader has also mentioned the need to make the notes app more powerful, such as offering a choice of fonts, text size and colors.
These are just the wishlist for iPhone OS 3.1, now let us see what one of our readers hopes to see from the Apple iPhone 4.0 (aka 2010 iPhone). The most popular feature asked for is a built-in flash as it is needed for shooting in low light levels; it would also be great to have a front facing camera for when you are using video chat.
Let us know what you hope to see from the upcoming iPhone OS 3.0 and the next iPhone handset.

In the next update I would like to see more shared communication between apps that run native on the iPhone, examples:
1. When I’m in the ADDRESS BOOK I would like to tap on a link that would send that person to the calender for and appointment, and also make a groups.
2. When I CALENDAR I would like for phone numbers address web address to contain a blue link in All Areas of the app once the information has been entered so that I may be able to call, email, navigate to a web site etc.
3. When sending multiple TEXT it would be nice if it were more like the setup that’s available for adding a # when on a call, if you could hit the add button and pick from the bottom favorites, recents, contacts, this would be great because half the time sending multiples is spent trying remember who is in the group.
4. The ability to SEARCH for Any And Everything On The Phone, if I put in a date everything should me cross referenced, the date 6/18/09 is different from June, 18th 2009, if you put in a phone # 555-555-5555 it is different from 5555555555, a cross reference tool like this is very, very helpful.
5 a little lock/unlock button in the menu next to the time to make your iPhone stay in LANDSCAPE or PORTRAIT mode for whenever you want.
6. A folder or sub folder on the page of each app page so that they may me better managed and that would allow more apps that just sit on the computer to go along for the ride.
7. As we all know if we have an iPhone it is not just our phone, everyone wants to put there hands on it, and to me that’s ok, but what isn’t ok is the sensitive information that I have on my phone, how about some Real PARENTAL LOCKS On This Phone!!! If choose to not have someone open up and alter my Contacts, Pictures, Text, loose a start spot in a game, Change system settings, or what ever, please give this ability to control this for ALL APPS, because I like sharing but with almost 2000 contacts and now a credit card terminal on my phone it bares a bit more responsibility, and again this is another one that could benefit from a quick key ( lock/ unlock, on/off, triple click of the home button 4 finger motion,
8. Let us have control over our phones battery drainage, it is my business as to weather I will have 5hrs 6hrs, or 1 hour on my phone because of BACKGROUND APPS, there are and immeasurable amount of things that can be done with this phone if this were allowed, I am a grown man stop leaving it upon yourself to baby-sit me watching out for my battery, just warn me and send me on my way, I will drag along a truck battery everywhere if I have to.
9. I think the find my iPhone feature is such a great tool to have but it is way to soft, once that process has been activated the phone should not be able to be turned off until and authorization code is put into the phone manually or online, and once activated the owner should have the ability to have a trail of where the phone has been and where its currently going, have a video or picture option that is constantly uploaded to the address or addresses chosen by the owner
Great article and comment above.
