We have fresh news on the PS3 Slim rumors for you to read now, as it has been rumored that two Taiwanese manufacturing companies have been awarded contracts to build Sony’s PS3 slimline console.
According to this Joystiq report, manufacturing orders have been split between two companies, Foxconn and Pegatron respectively.
While this remains just a rumor, it is interesting to add that these are the same two companies that worked on the original PS3 console, so maybe it’s time for Sony to put the rumors to rest for good.
The source also suggests that the PS3 Slim will start shipping in July, with units expected to release onto the market around August time.

Excuse me for being jaded but I feel like starting a website full of PS3 conjecture. Make any ol’ sh*t up then see how long it gets argued about online.
Seriously, there’s enough teccie news to keep us satisfied. Perhaps one article a week (for the 360 and the PS3) above the PSN and Live updates. So we can chat about the small stuff too.
Sorry… off I go on one again.
Let’s just get something absolutely right. I don’t know about you but my mates (and I) think the PS3 is a stunning design. Solid, weighty, beautiful piano-black finish. Something to show off if you fancy. It’s a chunky fella but in a good way. I understand how cute and sweet the slimline PS2 was (I have one) but surely… SURELY Sony should be concentrating their efforts on a cheaper PS3, not a change in form factor.
Psychologically, if this comes out at the same price then there’s even less console to justify your hard-earned cash on.
