Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1
By: Jamie Pert | July 1, 2009 | 3 CommentsIf you head over to Gizmodo you can see a full review of Panasonic’s latest digital camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1, if you read our review on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 last November you will probably be shocked to hear that this latest camera has exactly the same still shooting capabilities as the G1.
The thing that is different about this version of the camera is it has a ‘H’ in the model name, this ‘H’ simply stands for High-definition, considering there is a $700 price difference in my opinion this is a big difference just for the additional High-definition video recording capabilities.
Due to the identicalness of the still photography with the G1 and the GH1 you would hope that the video recording was exceptional to justify the price difference, as it turns out the video recording was exceptional, recording a 1080p.
The major thing holding this camera back is its current $1500 price tag, if you already posses a half decent still photography camera why buy this rather then a cheaper High-definition camera?
