Mnemosyne’s $10,000 16GB USB drive

With the ever growing importance of data security these days most people feel file encryption is the best way of securing your data, however a company named Mnemosyne have created a 16GB USB drive that instead of using software to encrypt data you have to physically solve the 3D puzzle which the drive is hidden within.

The device named the Mnemosyne will set you back $10,000, and while I do understand that data is extremely important to people there are plenty of cheaper solutions out there that reach the same level of security that this offers.

Apart from the price tag one other criticism which is frequently made is that reassembling the puzzle is just as hard as unravelling the puzzle.

Overall I like the idea however I hope that this isn’t a serious business plan, more just a bit of fun, check out Gizmodo for the original review including some photos.
