Bell and Telus want to support the iPhone ASAP

Bell and Telus customers who have been waiting patiently for the iPhone may not have to wait much longer, as it has been revealed that the two companies are in talks on a deal which will may see the iPhone released at last.

As reported from TheStar, talks are underway on a possible $1 billion upgrade to their wireless networks. If it goes ahead, the upgrade could be completed as early as this fall and it would then mean added support for a variety of GSM - based devices such as the iPhone.

As it stands, the only network in Canada that has the iPhone is Rogers Communications, so the news is sure to delight customers of Bell and Telus.
