Samsung NVIDIA Ion-powered netbook

Earlier today Engadget seemed to suggest that Samsung are developing a new NVIDIA Ion powered netbook platform. Well since that report CNET have now stated that Samsung have confirmed these rumors. The model that we will see first is called the N510 and that should be available at some point in July.

The main performance related specifications worth mentioning are that it has a 1.66Ghz Atom N280 processor, come with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB andan intergrated GeForce 9400M GPU which is DirectX 10 capable and able to play full 1080p HD video. The rest of the specifications are pretty much standard these days, they include a 11.6inch screen, WIFI, Bluetooth and 6-cell battery.

Due to the fact the netbook has its own GPU it is unknown how this will affect battery life, you would think that the extra processing power would drain the battery a lot quicker, time will tell if this is the case.
