Following our previous reports on homebrew applications reaching the Palm’s Web OS, it now seems that Palm intent to adopt the use of the publics knoweldge by adding a community driven element to Palm’s App Store.
Jon Rubinstein is quoted as saying “As you get large numbers of applications, you know, discovery and finding applications that are interesting to you becomes more and more difficult, and so we hope to use much more of a community approach to solving that problem,”
It is not yet stated whether this community driven element will be a section of homebrew apps or perhaps just a knowledgebase for users to share information on the Operating System or apps available in the App Store.
Palm also announced that the SDK which has been holding back the potential of the Application Store will be released within the next few weeks to thousands of developers, this should boost sales in the store and begin to unlock the WebOS’s potential.
As you can tell by the vagueness of the post this is very early in the pipelines we will keep you posted as more details emerge,.
