New IPhone June 2010: Wishlist

AT&T have been coming under huge pressure from its customers regarding the cost to upgrade to the new iPhone 3G S. We recently reported that AT&T were to offer the iPhone as a free upgrade for a limited period, but will have to start charging its customers soon.

We do not understand why AT&T should have to subsidize those on a two-year contract who wish to receive a new iPhone early. This problem will happen again, as there is sure to be a new iPhone in 2010, as Apple have introduced a new model over the past three years. There are some that say that this could be the iPhone 4G.

The first was the Apple iPhone 2G back in 2007, then there was the iPhone 3G in 2008, now we have the iPhone 3G S for 2009. Those who wish to have the new iPhone have to understand that there will be a new iPhone model each year, so you should accept that you would have to have the phone for two years.

The problem is these phones are very expensive and AT&T already subsidizes them, you have to remember that they are running a business; they cannot offer you the handset for three. There are two options, the first, if you want to upgrade to a new iPhone each year, then you will have to pay the price for the upgrade. The second is that Apple should not offer a new model each year, or maybe tell the networks carriers to offer a year contract.

If there were to be a new Apple iPhone for 2010, what would your wishlist be, such as what hardware you would like to see? Let us know by adding your comments below.

    Add zoom on the camera!

    The new iPhone should have:
    - a 5, 6 or 7 megapixel camera (and a digital camera) with zoom.
    - A much larger hard drive (say 120GB like the current iPod feature). I think at the moment they are still tryingto market hard drives, so they will sell iPods and iPhones, but if they integrate it into one, it would be amazing.
    - Unlimited apps. Instead of a limit to the number of pages you can have
    - Talk to SMS, so you can talk into the phone and it writes the SMS for you. That would be very, very fast and safe for those who choose to SMS whilst driving.
    - A decent battery life (at least double its current battery life). I understand they are power-hungry, but surely the life of the battery could be somewhat improved?
    - And, obviously if possible, reduce the thickness and weight but I imagine this would be difficult.

Yes, Martin in most of the features, you mentioned, I agree. But:
-camera is a feature where you wouldn’t take a 6 or 7 mp one. Either a 5 mp one (but that would be to little) or a 8 mp one (this is realistic and would be enough to be on the same level with the other phones)
-Then it should have zoom and a better video resolution maybe (and a front camera for chat)
-For display they could use an (am)oled one with a higher resolution and maybe a bit bigger
If the new iPhone will have those features then I’m gonna buy it! (If not: will be hard to find an alternative)

I would like to see a better calender. Like to ones on the app store.

  4. Ttall says:

Next iPhone in 2010 I want to see more MP camera like 8 or highter and most important is the slide out full Qwerty key board that will
    make me a happy man.

  5. Kacey says:

I like the idea of a 5/8 MP camera, unlimited apps, and more memory.
I’d like to add a flash to that camera and a way to organize the apps better. An integrated video chat would be nice too.

  6. Mark says:

I didn’t buy the hype with the 3GS and stuck with my (now slow) 3G.
My wishlist would be fairly simple.

Improved battery life so that I could actually USE 3G
Much better camera, 8mp is great but I would like to see a better lens too
Maybe the opportunity to plug in a keyboard or a games console type controller (with a proper D pad) for games…?

Simple but I think that would really improve things big time

      Next iPhone Wish List

      1. 4G LTE/LTE-Advanced capable
      2. WiFi 802.11n
      3. 64GB Memory (minimum) or more (Available for Application
memory as well as app/music/file storage).
      4. Camera Lense on Screen-side of phone (for Video
Conferencing… since easily capable - especially when
on LTE or 802.11n WiFi Network).
      5. Higher Res Screen
      6. Ability to transfer files to/from iPhone and manipulate
files onboard the iPhone more easily for use with
onboard apps (eg PDFs, WORD and Excel files, etc)
      (ie. Onboard app from Apple)
      7. Bluetooth setup that would enable us to connect to
      (?portable/foldable?)Bluetooth Keyboard, Magic Mouse,
      etc
      8. OK… higher Res Camera (with Flash!!!)
      9. Faster, more powerful CPU
      10. BATTERY LIFE..BATTERY LIFE…BATTERY LIFE!!!
      11. Ability to create menus and sub-menus to better organize
      my apps.

… any way, just a few ideas in case Apple’s iPhone engineers happen to be lurking ;-)

Better mps. Better gps. Omg adobe would ne ultimate to keep up with myfacebook games. Integrated ereader like amazons. Oh andaybe a limited edition breast cancer find a cure version with a percentage of the proceeds plus donation go to the Susan Komen Foundation.

  8. Janiece says:

I want a front facing camera, multi tasking, flash on the camera and probably just a thinner slicker design, for those that want more battery get the incase power slider gives me 8 hours before i even dip into my phones battery i love it!

  9. chris says:

very funny to read, but not realistic, to use a 8MP camera you need a very good lense and optical zoom, so i would recommend max 5MPixel with flash but, only the pixel make no good picture
faster cpu only with battery saving mode (like the M series of intel CPUs for notebooks in the past) otherwise it would much energy, and like everyone here wrotes the batterylife is the most important part

  10. Robert says:

I would like a 5/8 mp camera with zoom and the only thing that i have been waiting for apple is to install a flash.
