IPhone Tethering: Will you use it?
By: Peter Chubb | June 30, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe have had the new iPhone OS 3.0 for almost two weeks now and the new Apple iPhone 3G S for almost the same time, but there are still two features that are missing on Smartphone. The first is MMS on AT&T, and the second is tethering.
There have been a number of rumors that AT&T will charge $55 for this feature but in a recent article, AT&T said that these rumors are false and the service will be free. According to news.idg.no, O2 in the UK is to offer a bolt on to use tethering; this could be anything up to £29.36.
The new tethering feature will allow iPhone users to connect their laptops to the Internet via their iPhone handset. This means that you will no longer have to search for a hotspot; this will make life much easier for some, but is it something that will be used much.
