Intel’s 32nm Clarkdale CPU: release moved forward

Rumors are currently circulating that Intel plan to launch its Clarkdale CPU’s within the final quarter of 2009, rather then the original rumors of it launching in the first quarter of 2010. The rumors are circulating from Taiwan’s motherboard industry who obviously have to know these things in advance.

From what we can understand Clarkdale is Intel’s first 32nm processor with an integrated memory controller with a 45nm graphics core. Intel have high hopes for the Clarkdale CPUs expecting it to account for 10% of the processors Intel supply in the final quarter of this year, by February next year this figure is expected to rise to 20%.

Earlier today AMD announced their new Phenom II chip, it will be interesting to see how these two compete.
