Only a week has past since the release of Apple’s new iPhone 3GS, but it has been revealed recently that there a greal deal of you who are complaining about your new iPhone 3GS overheating.
As reported from Wired, the cause of the overheating is likely to be battery related. It’s even worse for owners of the white 3GS as it has been reported that the overheating causes the white case to turn brown on some parts of the plastic.
Rapid Repair, a company which performs teardowns of iPhones and iPods have stated that the overheating is most likely due to ‘faulty battery cells’, a problem which may led to a recall from Apple.
Aaron Vronko of Rapid Repair have this to say: “My guess is there’s going to be a whole lot of batteries affected because these [iPhones] are from very large production runs. If you have a problem in the design of a series of batteries, it’s probably going to be spread to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, and maybe more.”
