Last week we reported about the Pentax Optio W80 waterproof digital camera, well this week Agfa have announced their AgfaPhoto Waterproof DV-600uw camera. The main difference between the two cameras is that the AgfaPhoto is specifically designed to be a camera used underwater whereas the Pentax seemed to be more of a digital camera which can be submerged.
The DV-600UW camera is allowed to be submerged to a diving depth of 30 feet which is almost double what the Pentax can withstand. The 6 megapixel camera is designed to have great light sensitivity for dingy underwater shots. It seems also that Agfa have really tried to create an easy to use camera which can easily be switched from underwater mode to land more extremely quickly.
For non professional underwater photography you cant go wrong, in terms of design, ease of use, functionality and cost the AgfaPhoto Waterproof DV-600uw delivers on everything.
Check out the original review on Engadget and a more detailed look is available on the manufacturers website.
