Xbox 360 Project Natal and PS3 wand developer kits
By: Daniel Chubb | June 29, 2009 | Leave a CommentWhen we first heard about Xbox 360’s Project Natal it seemed a little hard to believe, then after watching hands-on reviews and reading about a Natal prototype, things seemed a little more real.
Next we read in detail about Project Natal’s Milo and the voice recognition technology, we could see that the idea was great, but the concept was a long time before production.
On the other hand, PS3’s Motion Sensitive Controller seemed a little more real and looked to reach consumers way before Natal.
So this is why we are surprised to hear that Sony’s PS3 wand motion-sensing technology – expected release date around early 2010 – is not in the hands of THQ developers while Project Natal dev kits are.
The Mirror is reporting that THQ CEO – Brian Farrell – said they have had Project Natal kits for some time. One reason THQ might be missing out on a PS3 wand kit, is the apparent limited supply. Read more on the Mirror and let us know what you think about both technologies.
