Windows Marketplace Apps vs Palm App Catalog and Ovi Store
By: Alan Ng | June 29, 2009 | Leave a CommentIt has been revealed recently that Microsoft are planning to release around 600 apps to coincide with the launch of Windows Marketplace. While the rest of the other stores attempt to emulate the success of Apple’s App store, it looks as if Microsoft are making a real effort to convince fans that their Marketplace is a worthy rival to the App store.
As reported from Engadget, it looks as if the Palm Pre store and Nokia’s Ovi store still have a lot of catching up to do, as the majority of their apps only offer the likes of wallpapers and ringtones at the moment.
It will be interesting to see how many of these 600 apps that Microsoft are preparing, turn out to be actual winners with customers.
