PS3 Firmware 3.0: Update bringing a completely new system
By: Alan Ng | June 29, 2009 | 20 CommentsExciting news for PS3 owners across the globe now as it has been recently revealed that Sony are planning to give the PS3 interface a complete makeover as part of a big pre-holiday firmware update.
That’s according to this PCWorld article, who have obtained the info from gaming site VG247. Apparently, the Playstation 3 firmware update 3.0 will be comparable to Microsoft’s ‘New Xbox Experience’, in terms of interface changes.
Other features that are said to be on the way include the ability to ‘rate players’, submit reports to Sony about disruptive players, download game patches in the background and the ability to submit screen captures.
Since the rumors broke though, Sony have stated that these are ‘completely untrue’ and are nothing but ‘pure speculation’. We’ve heard it all before though. Let us know your thoughts on the planned firmware update.
