Avatar awards for Xbox 360: Microsoft beta testing
By: Alan Ng | June 29, 2009 | 5 CommentsSpeculation has been mounting after a somewhat strange ‘Beta 2009′ icon has appeared on some Xbox 360 ‘Played Games’ profiles. It has since been revealed that this icon relates to internal testing from Microsoft for avatar awards.
As reported from Joystiq, the beta icon is actually an executable which will be available sometime in the future for beta users to try out before it launches.
In case you’ve forgotten, avatar awards were just one of the new features coming to NXE 2009, as announced recently at this year’s E3 event.
Avatar awards are triggered by in-game achievements and will allow you to purchase all kinds of new clothing. We’ll keep you updated on this feature when we hear more news.
