Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 release date: July 12

In a recent post, we had informed you that Verizon had delayed the launch of the BlackBerry Tour 9630 until August. Well thanks to some investigation work from BGR, we can now tell you that the release date for the much-anticipated RIM handset is July 12.

If you thought that was good news, then wait until you learn what the price will be for the handset, just $199 with a two-year agreement. You have to admit that Verizon has hit the sweet spot with the pricing, which is sure to help in the number of handsets that are shifted.

Verizon are not the only carrier to launch the BlackBerry Tour 9630, Sprint is also offering the handset with a release date sometime in July. If Verizon and Sprint both launch the BlackBerry Tour 9630 on the same day, then we will get to see a great battle on our hands, but this is certainly great news for RIM.
